BMW Launches Electric Coupe SUV
BMW has revealed the 2027 iX4, an electric Sports Utility Vehicle with a coupe-like silhouette. The vehicle is positioned as both the successor to the X4 and a sportier alternative to the iX3.
Design and Features
The iX4 features a sloping roofline and will come standard with M Sport styling, offering a more dynamic appearance than the traditional iX3 SUV. It shares the same wheelbase, length, and width as the iX3 but has a shorter roof.
Powertrain Options
The 2027 BMW iX4 will be available in two trims: the 50 xDrive and M60 xDrive. Both utilize an all-wheel drive system with one electric motor per axle. The 50 xDrive produces a combined 463 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, while the more powerful M60 xDrive generates 603 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque.
Range and Performance
The iX4 50 xDrive offers an EPA-estimated range of up to 428 miles, utilizing a 112.2 kWh battery. The base model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph.
Availability
The BMW iX4 will go on sale in March 2027, with the 50 xDrive trim arriving first, followed by the M60 xDrive. The vehicle represents a step forward for BMW’s Neue Klasse design and technology.
