TKO Group Expands Brain Health Research with Cleveland Clinic

Expanded Brain Health Initiative

TKO Group Holdings announced an extended, multiyear partnership with Cleveland Clinic, continuing through 2030, to support the Professional Athletes Brain Health Study. This renewed commitment involves a US$1 million pledge from UFC to the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas. Notably, WWE and Zuffa Boxing athletes will now also participate in the study, contributing through athlete enrollment and financial support.

Study's Scope and History

The Professional Athletes Brain Health Study, now entering its 15th year, is led by Charles Bernick, M.D., senior director of Cognitive Disorders at Cleveland Clinic Nevada. Originally established in 2011 as the Professional Fighters Brain Health Study, its focus has broadened to encompass professional athletes exposed to repetitive head trauma. The study aims to determine the long-term effects of such impacts and identify factors contributing to chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). UFC has committed over US$3 million to the study since 2011.

Impact on TKO's Investment Narrative

This expanded brain health research initiative embeds medical study costs into TKO Group Holdings’ operating model. While it reinforces the long-term viability narrative for TKO's combat sports portfolio, its direct impact on near-term financial figures is expected to be limited. Investors will be looking for further details on cost commitments and potential regulatory or sponsorship angles related to this research during TKO's upcoming third quarter 2026 earnings call on November 4.
